The Coming War is the first story mission in The Taken King's initial storyline. After receiving a Cabal distress signal originating on Phobos, the Vanguard sends the Guardian to investigate. The Guardian soon discovers the first wave of a new, horrifying threat to the Solar System: the Taken.
