The War Hound was an Ultra variant of the War Beast, exclusive to the Cabal Excavation Public Event during the EDZ Flashpoint. It and the EDZ Flashpoint were sunset with the release of Beyond Light on November 10, 2020.
Gameplay
The War Hound differed from its standard Red Legion counterpart by its heavier, gold-colored armor, adorned with black, red and white markings, and incredible durability. It behaved in the same manner as standard War Beasts, running in fast and slashing Guardians to pieces with its stronger attacks. Close-range powerful weaponry, such as a shotgun or burst-fire sidearm, was necessary to keep it back and deal sufficient damage.

Trivia
- Similar to Hound of the Cleaver, the War Hound featured darker scales than ordinary Warbeast suggesting that "Hounds" are a tougher breed/variant of Warbeast.
