The Undying Mind (strike)
From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
- "The Black Garden may not stay among us for long. Something has begun to repair the schism torn by its destruction. Vex now flood the Garden channels to protect it. We must stop the weavers before they seal the Garden and begin to summon back its heart."
- — Ikora Rey
The Undying Mind is a level 20 strike on Mars, taking place entirely within the Black Garden. It comes with The Dark Below expansion. The fireteam's objective is to kill a Vex Hydra named The Undying Mind before it can resurrect the Black Heart.

Walkthrough
First Area
In the starting area, the fireteam will face a number of enemy waves, including Goblins, Hobgoblins, Harpies, Minotaurs, and a few Hydras. Defeat them all to lower the barrier and enter the next area.
Second Area
Dispatch the few enemies waiting on the stairway and enter into the hallway at the top of the stairs.
Objective: Kill the Divisive Occulator and the Sol Primeval guarding the mind
A large number of Precursor Goblins and Minotaurs will start spawning, as well as a Cyclops who has raised another barrier. There are also a few Hobgoblins who will sniper from the top of the hill. Some of the Goblins will be headless Depraved Goblins, who will rush the player, but otherwise are not as dangerous. Because of the large number of Minotaurs, Void weapons are extremely useful here. Killing the Occulator lowers the barrier, though some enemies may still be spawning.
Third Area
Objective: Kill the Undying Mind
There will be a few normal enemies scattered about in the room ahead, but they are easy to manage. Upon reaching the final room, enemies will start appearing through the Vex Gate on the other side of the room. Eliminating them all will cause the Undying Mind to appear. He has three shields instead of one, so the window for attacking him is much smaller than with normal Hydras. There will also be periodic reinforcments of normal and Precursor Vex near the edges of the room. Stay on the outer edges as there's more cover, and because the Undying Mind mostly moves back and forth along the center of the room. Eliminate enemies that get close, but otherwise focus attention on the Undying Mind whenever a gap in his shields appears.
