Death of Crota and extinction of the Hive on the Moon
So Crota, Son of Oryx is now dead, does this mean without him, the Hive are extinct on the Moon? Titan66 (talk) 22:31, 02 November 2015 (EDT)
- No. I don't even know why anyone would think that. Besides, there's still Hive on the moon during TTK story missions. OmgHAX! (talk) 13:20, 3 November 2015 (EST)
Size of Crota's physical form
I'm wondering if they awakened Crota in the material or real world from his crystal, would he be big as Alak-Hul, the Darkblade like in the Dark Below Cinematic intro? Titan66 (talk) 16:15, 12 October 2017 (EDT)
- Ouch, that is a hard one. Due to the fact that Hive sizes vary on age, power, and rank, we really can't tell without something more in the way of information. Arcmind Execute long hold for reactivation. AI-COM/ACMD SIGNOFF 16:45, 13 October 2017 (EDT)
Apparition?
This is just a theory but what if the Crota we fight in Crota's End wasn't the real Crota, instead, it was an apparition summoned by Crota to do battle with the team that challenged him? I mean seriously! He was no chitin on him which would be a first for Hive plus his green appearance and the many missing parts on his body like a full conection to his hands yet he swings them normally AND he was NO similarities to his father and I'm pretty sure Oryx's mate didn't look like that along with him disappearing when killed even though his dad doesn't when you kill him. As for the "killing him permanently" counterargument I have this piece of theory that I thought of, what if like The Black Heart, after his apparition died he simply was out of power and plus all the wounds to his Oversoul he passed on but not after wailing out to the Darkness for Oryx. Honestly I think this is a well pieced theory. What do you other members think? ---Virgil the Ghost
Why does Crota in Shadowkeep look smaller compared to his gigantic raid form during Crota's End?
Besides being a Nightmare boss, why does Crota in Shadowkeep, who's the same size as Thalnok, Fanatic of Crota, look smaller compared to his raid form who was gigantic in Crota’s End? Also, why is he much easier to kill with sword, but no shield appears which was necessary for rockets during the raid? Is this what he looked like during the Great Disaster and also what he would have appeared in his corporeal/physical form if he succeeded during the Wakening Ritual during the Dark Below? If that's the case, then Nightmare Crota should be the profile picture, not the raid picture which belongs in the gallery. Kind of like Regicide Oryx being profile picture, not his King's Fall version which also belongs in gallery as well. ---Sparta94 (talk) 21:26, 03 October 2019 (PDT)
Crota
They don't have to look alike, hive forms can vary, for example, oryx use to be female haha. Oryx is a wizard, while crota is a knight. On the idea of him being a vision, he isn't given oryx wouldn't of come after the guardians in taken king otherwise. Kings fall wouldn't even be a thing and it would definitely wouldn't be for a greater scheme, sadly in games that's just how things go, crota in game doesn't live up to crota in lore, crota in lore was able to rip through armours with a swing of his sword, he slaughtered hundreds of guardians and yet when he is in his throne world (which gives him full power over the realm he is in) he fails to kill 6 guardians, one being "The guardian" It may be possible that he may be resurrected, given necromancy does exist in the universe although I do not think so given that it contradicts the sword logic and if for example crota brother was to bring him back to life, crota would most likely kill him.
Visions of the hive have been seen, such as oryx. Essence of there past existence may transcend death itself. Although crota was suppose to have been destroyed as shown in a mission in destiny one. I believe the crota we fight is the true crota, but there may be some way in which crota survived, such as encasing his soul into an object to escape death, as oryx did, maybe Necrocasm.
