Andal Brask was the former Hunter Vanguard before Cayde-6 took the post.[2]
Biography
Andal Brask was revived by one of the Ghosts following Micah-10, and immediately afterwards journeyed to the Last City across the Pacific Ocean.[3] He was met there by Tallulah Fairwind, who pointed him towards a jumpship stolen by the House of Devils.[4]
During the early City Age, Andal was among those who assisted in the Faction Accords.[5] He eventually became the Hunter Vanguard and gained a seat on the Consensus during the conflict between the Speaker and Vanguard Commander Osiris. At a meeting of the Consensus, Andal was present when the Speaker announced that he was appointing Ikora Rey as the new Warlock Vanguard, was banishing Osiris from the Last City, and named Zavala as the new Vanguard Commander.[6]
Andal and the Hunter scout Cayde-6 became close friends, and Brask often spun wild stories about his Exo counterpart - going as far as to claim Cayde was none other than the great Rasputin.[7] He eventually made the Vanguard Dare with Cayde, challenging him to take up Andal's position on the Vanguard should he ever perish.[2] While on a mission, Andal was murdered by the Fallen mercenary Taniks, the Scarred.[8] With Andal dead, Cayde-6 reluctantly assumed the Vanguard post in memory of his fallen friend,[2] taking up Andal's cloak in his memory.[9][note 1]
