Heavy Shanks are a unique Shank variant first created by the House of Devils specifically to infiltrate the vault of the Warmind Rasputin during the Taken War. By the time of the Red War two years later, the House of Dusk has mass-produced Heavy Shanks to provide fire support for scavenger crews.

Heavy shanks use the same model as S.A.B.E.R.-2, but only have void turrets as a weapon.

Gameplay

Heavy Shanks are quite possibly the most difficult Shank model to dispose of, given their bulkier chassis and upgraded firepower. Their Void turrets can lay waste to even the most resilient Guardians, and are capable of taking more damage than any other Shank. However, Heavy Shanks are slow and cumbersome targets, making them vulnerable out in the open. Their weak spot is the purple vent on the front.
