The Nightmare of Xurgen, Scourge of Io is a Nightmare Knight of the Ionian scourge, Xurgen. It would be manifested within the Subjugated Vault by the Weavers of Sorrow by experimenting with Nightmare Essence, inadvertently unleashing Xurgen into the Vault. It would later be put to rest by Glimmer hungry Guardians.
