"Thuria might be clear, but it's not the problem Korus could become."
Holborn[1]

Fleetbase Korus was a Cabal military and mining installation on Phobos that was overun by the Taken at the start of the Taken War.

Overview

Discovered by Holborn's Host in association with Lord Shaxx and a Redjack fireteam, Fleetbase Korus marked the largest known Cabal orbital defense station in the system since the Cabal had first arrived in Sol.[1][2] Rumored to have been pulled Phobos out of its natural orbit and locked into Mars' atmosphere by the Psion Flayers It was being used by the Skyburners Legion, under the command of Primus Ta'aun and his fleet battalion commanders Valus Mau'ual and Valus Tlu'urn, as their base of operations and to prepare the first wave of a full-scale celestial demolition fleet.[3][1]

Following the Battle of Saturn, Oryx unleashed his Taken onto the base. Overwhelmed in minutes, the Skyburners sent a distress call that would be intercepted by the Vanguard. Zavala would send the Guardian to investigate, only to find the Cabal evacuating the base. After encountering the Taken there for the first time and defeating Syrok, Word of Oryx, the Guardian ultimately had to flee the base as well.[4]

After successfully forcing Oryx to retreat into his Throneworld, the Guardian tracked and defeated an Echo of Oryx that had retreated to the Fleetbase.[5]

The base continued to be infested by the Taken for years after Oryx's death. However, they appear to have grown docile after Mars was abducted after the Arrival of the Black Fleet.[6]
