Kalrix, the Unwavering Claw is a Fallen Captain, who became the Kell of the Fallen House of Vipers. Formerly a member of the House of Winter and the son of Draksis, Winter Kell, Kalrix would wrest control of the Vipers following infighting with its nobility. From there, he would seek out Hive relics on Hyperion for survival, leading to the discovery of an ancient weapon, corrupted into a Weapon of Sorrow, becoming a centerpiece for the Vipers in extraction of its Corrupting Poison for their use of power.

Kalrix would slowly be driven to the brink of insanity by the weapon, convinced that a Voice in the Dark seeks him to become one of his Disciples, leading to turning the Vipers into a death cult and the capture of Joskaa, Lion Kell, a driving force for the events in Season of the Vipers.
