The Blocker is a type of Taken enemy that appears in Gambit activies by banking certain amounts of Motes of Dark at once by a single player.
Gameplay
When summoned, the Blocker immediately closes down the bank it was sent to, preventing the enemy from banking their motes. While in combat Blockers fight the same way as most variations of that Taken enemy.
Forsaken
When Gambit was first released, banking 5-9 motes sent a Ravenous Taken Phalanx, 10-14 motes sent a Ravenous Taken Knight, and finally 15 motes sent a Hallowed Ogre.
Gambit Prime
In Gambit Prime the blockers had been switched. Now 5-9 was a Elite Taken Goblin, 10-14 was a Ravenous Taken Captain, and 15 was an Ultra Taken Knight. Players with the full collector get could bank 20 to summon a giant blocker: an Ultra Taken Phalanx If the disabled bank was left unattended and more than one blocker was active, or one giant blocker was active, the bank would begin to be drained, siphoning motes from that teams bank into the enemy's until the blockers were dealt with.
Beyond Light
With Beyond Light's release and the sunsetting of Gambit Prime and the Reckoning, vanilla Gambit was merged with Prime to make the currently final iteration of Gambit and the Blocker system. The Blocker roles were carried over from Gambit Prime, with the exception of the medium blocker being changed from a Taken Captain to a Taken Phalanx.
