Screebs are arachnid-like Scorn units which travel in packs and charge at attackers, dealing massive damage through self-detonation.

Overview

Screebs are kamikaze units akin to a Cursed Thrall, that crawl toward their foes on all six limbs and detonate themselves in an attempt to destroy said foes. Due to being resurrected an excessive number of times, they have lost any sense of self or sanity, and have reverted to bestial instincts. They are overstuffed with Dark Ether, which has twisted and mutated their bodies to the point that they are highly unstable and explode extremely easily.[1]

Screebs have little tactical acumen: as soon as they spot a target, they make a beeline for them and try to catch them in a devastating Arc explosion. They can often be found lurking behind corners or crawling down walls, and in chaotic situations they may even be manifested right in the middle of the fight. They usually travel in large swarms, which can be blown up in a chain reaction.

Trivia

  • The Screeb is the fourth kamikaze unit to appear in the Destiny series.
  • Screebs can rarely be forced to stand up, such as through Finishers, in which case one can easily see they are the same size as a Stalker.
  • As with Cursed Thralls and Explosive Shanks, finishing a Screeb will send them flying from the player, detonating them at a safe distance. This may be a preferable tactic in situations where you are caught short on distance between you and a Screeb.
