The Colossus (formerly Gladiator) is a type of Cabal elite warrior. Massive, even for Cabal standards, they lead through their own ferocious size and strength, wielding devastating Gatling-style Heavy Slug Throwers.[1]
Gameplay
A Colossus is the most dangerous Cabal unit to be encountered on the battlefield due to their powerful weaponry, acting as an all-range heavy assault unit, with their primary weapon of choice being the Heavy Slug Thrower. Heavy Slug Throwers fire a hailstorm of bullets that can keep the player pinned down in its line of suppressive fire and melt a Guardian's shield in the blink of an eye, and is also surprisingly accurate at long range, thus maintaining effectiveness over vast distances. Each bullet hits like a truck due to their massive flinch value, and to have so many bullets shoved downrange into a Guardian so quickly would end them in an instant.
Colossi also have the ability to fire shoulder-mounted rockets that track their targets. Should a full barrage manage to land a hit they can swiftly destroy their target. [2] The rockets also have a high velocity, making dodging them a very difficult strategy to pull off. Although Colossi dominate at long range, engaging in melee combat with one is a bad idea, as it is capable of unleashing a three-hundred-sixty degree ground stomp that instantly kills any Guardian who gets too close. It is for these reasons that a Colossus either be engaged at extreme distances or eliminated quickly in a panic.
