-The home-world of the Witness was once blessed by the traveller to which they referred to as the “Gardener.” For eons they lived in prosperity but lacked a purpose which the traveller did not provide them with. They discovered that the traveller had a tie to another entity among the stars called the veil. By studying it they came to understand the darkness and a way to “calcify reality, into a final shape.” This was now their purpose.
-They brought the veil to their Gardener in an attempt to link with the traveller to gain the ability to shape reality itself. The traveller fled their home once they attempted to link the veil together with the traveller resulting in a collapse of their species.
-Using what they learned from the veil, they used the power of the darkness to bind themself together into a being which will bring them their salvation and thus becoming the witness.
