Royal Wine is a substance used by Emperor Calus during his time commanding the Leviathan. It is a thick, glistening purple liquid derived from the soil of planetoids consumed by the Leviathan, such as Nessus[1], that has been mixed with psionics-enhancing spores from plants in Calus' Pleasure Gardens.
By the time Katabasis encountered Calus in the flesh, the Emperor was contained within a support system which pumped Royal Wine directly into his body.[2]
