Harpy: Difference between revisions

(→Trivia: Updating as I've seen both void with purple, and solar with yellow harpies. Although not recently. Maybe this was changed after Red War?) |
(→Trivia: Removing unnecessary comma and removing 'few' as there are plenty of non-taken enemies like Dregs, Shanks, Adherents, Vanquishers (or just cleaver knights in general), Wyverns, Legionaries, Colossi, and literally the entire Scorn faction.) |

- "It swam back and forth through the air, spinning, the single red eye looking - I realized - for me."
- — Grimoire description
The Harpy is an airborne Vex unit capable of high speed and agility.[1]
Overview
Harpies fly rapidly in and out of combat. They must stop and stabilize before attacking, opening up their shells and revealing a writhing mass of filaments.[2][3] They are equipped with Harpy Slap Rifles which, as its name suggests, is a weapon exclusively for the Harpy.[4] In Destiny 2, Harpies can also be found using the Vex Laser Rifle. When at rest, Harpies can be seen stretching their bodies towards the sky, while their tentacles graze the ground.
Gameplay
Harpies are highly aggressive when fought, often dodging and maneuvering around gunfire. They tend to congregate around Guardians in order to overwhelm them, and are highly dangerous in numbers. Harpies in Destiny use Slap Rifles, while in Destiny 2 they can employ the Vex Laser Rifle as an alternative weapon. Those that employ laser rifles can be distinguished with their uniquely-colored purple tentacles.
