Battlegrounds are a three-player arena matchmaking activity format, similar to strikes, that were first seen with the original battlegrounds, released in Season of the Chosen. Each variation follows certain story elements and objectives relevant to the season in which it was released.
Battleground types
- Featured in Vanguard Ops:
- Battlegrounds, the original activity, introduced in Season of the Chosen.
- PsiOps Battlegrounds, introduced in Season of the Risen.
- Heist Battlegrounds, introduced in Season of the Seraph.
- Featured only as a seasonal activity:
- Defiant Battlegrounds, accessible in Season of Defiance.
