Mallory Bertha, also known as The Lightborn Princess, referred to by Guardians as Mal, is a Warlock Voidwalker and the curator of the Dragon Queen Pulse Rifle who acquired the powers of Fusion through the Darkness.

A natural-born renegade Lightbearer and the daughter of Hendrick Yor and Kaguya Narusaka, Mallory would become corrupted by the Darkness and kill Crown King Benjamin Florian and Maleficent and their united forces of Auradonians and Overtakers to avenge her parents' deaths, eventually going on to help Kirito, the Black Swordsman and Asuna, the White Angel and their armies of Avatars destroy The Last City so that the Black Fleet can enshroud the Solar System; however, she would be saved by The Guardian and their Light-empowered allies, who destroyed her darkness and linked Violet to her Light, turning her into a Shadowdancer.

A supporting protagonist of the Paradox expansion, she plays a pivotal role in Season of the Black Swordsman.

Personality and Traits

"She may think she's wicked, but don't let that disturb you. She only did those horrible things because the Darkness manipulated her."
Eris Morn

Mallory is a sneaky, smart, and sometimes ruthless girl who is a natural-born leader and skilled at art, especially spray paint art. Though she is compassionate, she is also vengeful and does not forgive others easily. She has a knack for casting spells, but only if needed.

She enjoys coming up with wicked schemes and wreaking havoc and is the most feared on the Solar System because of her reputation. She isn't fond of beautiful surroundings or anything pink, calling them gross. Despite this, she is not necessarily immoral; she is just misguided. Her "mean girl" facade is mostly an act, likely because she experienced a traumatic event in Eaton. Mallory is extremely goal-oriented, driven by her desires to avenge her parents' deaths. This causes Mallory to often prioritize her objective over the feelings of others, especially those of whom she manipulates in order to achieve her goals. While Mallory's goals are mostly her own, they share the same level of notoriety with those of the Shadowkeepers. The Guardian and their allies are the only ones who see through Mallory's act (including herself), and saw her for who she was - a good person.

Upon being in tune with the Light, Mallory would follow the path that the Guardians ventured through in protecting the civilians and other Lightbound forces against their enemies. With friendship and love, Mallory ended up filling the hole in her heart that could not be satisfied through the Darkness.
