Xaras, Greed of Xivu Arath is a Taken Chimera that serves Xivu Arath, and is the boss of the Broken Courier Quest activity.
The Taken will attempt to stop the Guardians from collecting all of the stolen Awoken artifacts, but is eventually killed in the process.
Gameplay
As players reach the Harbinger's Seclude, they will be guided to the final Awoken relic that was stolen. By recovering the relic, players will need to prepare themselves for battle as Xaras will immediately spawn alongside Taken reinforcements to stop them from leaving with the Relic.
Xaras will continuously blast with Void damage and is capable of moving around the arena through flight. It is also highly durable and will summon more reinforcements as more of its health is depleted.
The Chimera will attempt to shield itself with Blights which make it immune to all damage. Players need to shoot these black orbs to continue their offence. Occasionally Xaras will also send four Blight bursts capable of seeking out its target similar to Axion Darts sent by Taken Centurion. These need to be shot to prevent further damage. Heavy weaponry is recommended to defeat Xaras once and for all.

Trivia
- While the Voice of Riven was the first prominent Chimera encountered in game, Xaras proves that Chimera's are separate entities born from pure darkness and are not spawn from Riven.
- Xaras is the third known Chimera after the Voice of Riven and Inomina, Plague of the Well.
