Kathok, Roar of Xol was a unique Ultra Knight who appeared as one of the weekly rotating final bosses of Escalation Protocol.
Gameplay
Kathok continuously bombarded the player's position with highly-damaging explosive Arc bolts fired from his Boomer, and used a Fist of Darkness at close range to knock Guardians back a significant distance. He was constantly backed by lesser Hive reinforcements as well as Shriekers, and wwas surrounded by an immunity shield that can only be shut down by Cleavers that were obtained by killing Severing Knights. Once Kathok's shield broke, he was vulnerable to all damage for a brief period.
Upon defeat, Kathok had a small chance to reward the IKELOS SMG v1.0.1 submachine gun.
Trivia
- Kathok adopts the same mechanic that Ecthar, Sword of Oryx has, in which players need an Ascendant Sword to burn down Ecthar's shield to damage him.
- Kathok is the name of a religious monastery in China.
- Some people call this boss "Reverse Crota" due to how he uses the same mechanics, but instead he wields a Boomer and all players can use a sword
