The Guardians followed and though they succeeded in killing Calus and holding the line against the Shadow Legion on Earth, The Witness nonetheless got what it wanted in using the Veil in establishing a connection with the Traveler, creating a gateway upon it with the Vanguard Coalition unable to follow.
