The Light, otherwise simply referred to as "magic,"[1] is a type of force[2] that stems from the Traveler.[3] Guardians are the rare few able to wield it, and use the Light as a weapon.[4] Additionally, combined with machinery, the Light was used to construct the Ghosts.[5] Orbs of Light may also be found.[6] The Light is antipathic to the Hive.[7]
