Skorn | |
---|---|
The Skorn are a rogue House of undead Fallen pirates led by Uldren Sov. They recently orchestrated a massive breakout from the Prison of Elders and murdered Cayde-6 in the process. They are mechanically enhanced Fallen abominations that make use of technology from other species for their own use.[1][2]
Overview
The Skorn are a horde of undead Fallen that are the most drastically warped House of Fallen ever seen in the Solar System. They look and act completely different from their other brethren due to their undead nature, even wielding technologies from enemy species to benefit themselves. Many of the Skorn demonstrate melee-focused abilities, and they all are Fallen mutants as a result of their mysterious undead nature- with one unit in particular nearly being the size of a Hive Ogre.[1][3]
Appearance
The Skorn can be distinguished by their dark gunmetal colored, chain-adorned armor, and drastic physical differences from other Fallen. Many of them are unnaturally large in stature, and they seem to favor the use of fire-based weaponry.[1]
Structure
The Skorn do not have the structure of traditional Fallen houses and seem to have abandoned traditional Fallen ways entirely. Skorn pirates make use of enemy technologies, and many of them have docked lower arms. They are not quite a Fallen House in the traditional sense since they are essentially a horde of Fallen zombies, reanimated for mysterious reasons.[4]
History
Prison Break
A year after the Red War, the Skorn took advantage of the Reef's disheveled state and broke out en-masse from the Prison of Elders. During the breakout, the Skorn Barons and Uldren Sov killed Cayde-6. After the escape, they fled into the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City, behind the leadership of Prince Uldren and their eight commanding Barons. [1]

Trivia
- The Skorn are technically not an established Fallen House but are considered as such due to their Baron leadership.
- They are the second enemy faction in-game to be lead by an antagonist of a different species, the first being the Grasp of Nokris and their Worm God Xol.
- Beside the Hive, the Skorn are the third faction of undead enemies seen in the Destiny series, the first being Guardians, and the second being the Hive.[5]
