- "Slow to shoot but brutal upon impact."
- — Weapon description
The Duke MK.44 is a standard-issue revolver[1] manufactured by the City's Sector 08 Armory.[2] Like any gun in the FOTC arsenal, it can be customized over time to fit perfectly in the hand of the hero who brandishes it. The weapon is most commonly associated with newer Guardians who equip a sidearm in their primary loadout[1]
While the Duke has a low rate of fire and a high recoil, it produces a high amount of damage with each round and is not effected by reticule bloom.[3] It has a built in "quick draw holo sight", as well as a "hair trigger".[4]
Trivia
- The name is likely a reference to the .44 Magnum Mega Class from Marathon, an earlier Bungie game.
- The magazine size is a reference to Bungie's favorite number, seven.
