The Collapse is an event in human history that nearly brought the species to extinction. Following the Golden Age after mankind had colonized the Sol System, an unknown enemy attacked humanity and pushed it back to its homeworld, Earth. This would have led to humanity's extinction if not for the intervention of the Traveler. As the Collapse ended, mankind eventually recovered only to find its former colonies inhabited by new species and enemies. [1]
