Gone Fishin' is a Destiny 2 quest for Season of the Deep. It was exclusive to Week 5 of Season of the Deep and after completing the Gone Fishin' quest. The quest's release allowed the ability to catch the exotic fish Whispering Mothcarp.
Steps
Start
- Hawthorne spoken with in the Tower
Hawthorne mutters something to herself and shakes her head.
"Look, I'm not going to pretend I understand why Savathûn has fish on her throne world, or what could cause them to swarm. What I do know, is that any unusual activity in that place is worth investigating."
"Take your bait and rod, see what you can fish up. Just be careful you don't get pulled under yourself."
Step 1
Hawthorne wants to speak to you about some strange behavior among the fish on Savathûn's throne world.
- Earn points to collect participation rewards by catching fish in the Miasma of the Throne World. Higher quality fish are worth more.
- • Exotic: 20 points
- • Legendary: 5 points
- • Rare: 2 points
- • Uncommon: 1 point
Step 2
The fish are shoaling in the waters of Miasma. Seems like a prime time to catch some.
- Earn points to collect Bronze Tier rewards by catching fish in the Miasma of the Throne World. Higher quality fish are worth more points.
- • Exotic: 20 points
- • Legendary: 5 points
- • Rare: 2 points
- • Uncommon: 1 point
Step 3
You've reeled in a good number of fish, but there are still more to catch.
- Earn points to collect Silver Tier rewards by catching fish in the Miasma of the Throne World. Higher quality fish are worth more points.
- • Exotic: 20 points
- • Legendary: 5 points
- • Rare: 2 points
- • Uncommon: 1 point
Step 4
You've reeled in a good number of fish, but there are still more to catch.

- Return to Hawthorne in the Tower to claim your prize.
Hawthorne waves as you approach.
"Glad to see you back in one piece. I was worried YOU might end up as the bait for once."
"I don't think we'll ever truly understand Savathûn or that swamp of hers. Maybe studying the fish you caught can yield some answers. Rahool's already creating a taxonomy for them."
She looks to Louis and rolls her eyes with a grin.
"Good fishing out there, Guardian."
