The Relic.

The Relic is an artifact that appeared on Mars during the period in which the planet was shrouded in darkness by the Black Fleet. It is clearly of the same craftsmanship as the Pyramids, being made primarily of polished blocks of what appears to be colored stone. Described as a "resonance engine," it is capable of reaching across time to recreate objects based on memories, and to impart visions of the past associated with an object. It also has a hidden firing range where Guardians can test a variety of weapons and shoot floating targets, through a doorway behind the weapon crafting table. The Relic is also where the unlocking of the Deepsight ability occurs, and where the obtainment of the first Glaive: The Enigma through weapon crafting occurs. There is also a conduit that allows a Relic Tether to be gotten, which lets players know the number of Resonant Elements they possess.

The weapon crafting table is used to shape and reshape weapons from obtained patterns. Depending on the weapon being made or remade, selections can be made from various different options in the intrinsic frame and the four trait slots. The first two trait slots refer to the characteristics of the weapon family, such as bowstrings for bows, batteries for fusion rifles etc, and the last two will be traits (commonly referred to as "perks" by players) specific to that weapon itself. There also exists a fifth slot into which an optional Memento can be applied, which can be obtained from three high-end activities; Trials of Osiris, Grandmaster Nightfalls and Gambit. Mementos provide specialised trackers, a title for the weapon and a shader, unlocking at weapon level 1, 20 and 30 respectively. To perform shaping and reshaping, various in-game currencies are spent depending on the action taken: Resonant Elements, Glimmer, Resonant Alloys, Drowned Alloys found exclusively from dismantling Vow of the Disciple raid weapons, Ascendant Alloys, and Enhancement Cores. Exotic weapons can also be crafted at the table, though selections in each column can be restricted due to the fixed nature of some Exotic weapon traits.
