Word of Crota is a Level 20 Legendary Hand Cannon acquired as a random drop from defeating Crota, Son of Oryx on Heroic difficulty.

Gameplay

This weapon is part of the high rate-of-fire and low-impact Hand Cannon archetype. Since the weapon is only available as a Year 1 drop, it is mostly only used in the Crucible due to the fact that most modes don't enable Light level advantages.

Trivia

This is the only Hand Cannon that is capable of dealing Void damage.
Word of Crota was designed to look like a weapon forged by the Hive, despite not being considered a Weapon of Sorrow.
