- "Just before a Nova Bomb hits, there is a rush of air and warmth—the destruction of Light and life in its path."
- — Ikora Rey
Nova Bomb is a Guardian Super available to members of the Warlock class that use the Voidwalker subclass.[1]
Description
- "Channel some of the Traveler’s most mysterious forces and unleash them in an explosive, large area-of-effect attack."
- — Ability description [2]
The caster hurls a concentrated sphere of the Traveler's energy that, upon impact with a target, unleashes a devastating explosion. The Nova Bomb is capable of completely vaporizing weaker enemies and stagger larger more powerful foes.[3] It can be upgraded to leave behind a damaging vortex on impact, split into three separate projectiles upon being thrown, or travel farther than faster.
In Destiny 2, there are two types of Nova Bombs, Attunement of Chaos and Attunement of Hunger. Attunement of Chaos's Nova bomb, Cataclysm, travels slowly and seeks enemies, and detonations shatter into smaller seeker projectiles.[4] Attunement of Hunger's Nova Bomb, Vortex, creates a singularity which continually damages enemies trapped inside.[5] The Nova Bomb in Destiny 2 does more damage than in Destiny 1.
