The Goblin is the basic unit within the Vex Nexus.[1]
Overview
Goblins usually attack in swarms [2] and emit unusual, bird-like squawks upon finding an enemy, taking damage, or dying. [3] As with all members of the Vex collective, Goblins share a single mind. This allows them to coordinate their swarming assaults on Guardians. [4] They also carry weapons called Slap Rifles which bear resemblance to energy terminals and serve a wide variety of construction purposes as well as combat. [5]
Gameplay
Goblins are a cannon-fodder type enemy, meaning they can be dispatched with little effort. They attack in large numbers and often serve as a frontal diversion for a stronger Vex unit such as a Cyclops, Minotaur, or even a Hydra. They attack from a distance with low-level projectile weaponry and do not charge their enemies unless they are decapitated and have gone "berserk". In which case, the Goblin will charge at its foe with visual electricity coursing across its body and will attempt to melee the adversary. The real weakness of a Goblin is actually its abdomen/lower stomach region where a glowing mind-core is situated. [6]

- Nessus-based Goblins have a slightly more intricate chassis with a more curved head design.[8]
- Throughout the Destiny series, there has never been an Axis Mind with the appearance of a Goblin or even a fully named Goblin.
- Network anomalies from Season of the Splicer are the second ultra throughout the game you can do finishers on. The first being Renewal Wizards.
