The Kell of Kings is the mysterious Kell of the Fallen House of Kings. The Kell of Kings was actually responsible for the Battle of the Twilight Gap, manipulating the House of Devils, the House of Winter, and the House of Wolves into an alliance to attack the City and reclaim the Great Machine.[1] However, the House of Wolves was unable to participate in the battle due to an attack from the Reef, and the Guardians were able to force the other three Houses from the City's walls.[2]

When Skolas began his plan to take over the Fallen Houses, he did not use force against the House of Kings, as he did with the House of Winter[3] or the House of Devils[4]. Instead, Skolas sent Yavek as an ambassador to meet with the House of Kings. The Kell of Kings refused to meet with Yavek, instead sending two Barons, Paskin and Vekis, as ambassadors on its behalf.[1] Prince Uldren Sov, however, believed that the Barons were assassins sent by the Kell of Kings to eliminate a potential threat to its goal of taking over the rest of the Fallen Houses.[5][1]
