"Disrupt a Hive Ritual to keep the Rig from sinking"
— In game description

Siren Song is an Adventure taking place on Titan. It is unlocked after completing Utopia at the same time as the adventure Deathless, and is effectively a prelude to the strike Savathûn's Song

Gravitational Waves are being produced by Hive magic and are destabilising the Arcology. To counteract this the player tracks the waves back to their source in a Hive Summoning Ritual, possibly for the "deceased" Ubara, Hive Prince, which they subsequently interrupt.

The Rig
Start Adventure

Sloane: Guardian, we're reading some odd fluctuations in our scans.

Amanda Holliday: Gravity waves. Small for now, but amp 'em up and they'll rip us apart.

Sloane: I've got three locations where the waves are strongest. Sending you coordinates.

Investigate gravity waves
Sites checked
[0-3] of 3
Check the sites where Sloane's readings are strongest
The player moves to the various sites in Siren's Watch in no particular order. The player reaches the first site, covered in Hive gunk.
Scan Gravity Waves
1 of 3
The player scans the Hive materials at the first site which promptly start roaring like a Knight before disappearing.

Ghost: I don't see anything, Sloane. But I - did you hear that?

Sloane: What are you picking up?

Ghost: It's gone. Maybe I'm imagining things. We'll check your other coordinates.

Holliday: Do it quick. I don't like what I'm seeing.

The player approaches the next location
Scan Gravity Waves
2 of 3
The site screams at the player angrily then vanishes once more.

Holliday: Not to rush ya, but these waves are growin' fast.

Sloane: Get over there, and we should be able to track those gravity waves back to their source.

The player approaches the third site of weird Hive gunk
Scan Gravity Wave
3 of 3
The player scans the final site, which also screams at them like an angry Hive Knight, then disappears back into the Hive netherworld.

Ghost: Sloane, you have to hear this.

Sloane: Oh, I hear it. Amanda's grabbed your data and is mapping the source now.

Holliday: Sources. Three of 'em. Go shut 'em down.

Search for the sources
Find the sources of the gravity waves
The player enters the Arcology
Solarium

Ghost: Sloane, it's a ritual, a big one. They really ARE going to shake this Arcology to pieces

Sloane: Then let's do the same to them.

Destroy Hive Shrine
Demolish the Hive Shrine used in their ritual
The player kills the Hive surrounding the Shrine device, which is emitting some sort of screaming noise continuously. The player destroys the Shrine, causing a yellow bar Hive Wizard, the "Ritual Hierarch", to enter the scene with reinforcements.
Defeat the Hierarch
Eliminate the Ritual Hierarch
The player kills the Hierarch and continues further into the Arcology, headed towards the Arboretum
Search for the sources
Find the sources of the gravity waves
Arboretum
The player fights through the Hive towards the long white hallway in the Arboretum where another ritual is underway, guarded by several Knights. This Shrine device also emits screams
Destroy Hive Shrine
Demolish the Hive Shrine used in their ritual
The player destroys the Shrine, causing another Ritual Hierarch to appear.
Defeat the Hierarch
Eliminate the Ritual Hierarch
The player kills the Hiearch and its minions and continues on inside, to where they drop down several stories into the Hive colony, where several tunnels and other passages connect around a large hole in the ground sealed by a Hive magic barrier interacted with during the Savathun's Song strike.

Ghost: We tear this altar down, we stop that horrible noise.

Sloane: The sooner the better. We're hearing that sound on all sensors now. Feeling it, too.

The Shrine is a little ways back from this central hole, inside the passage and guarded by more Hive.
Destroy Hive Shrine
Demolish the Hive Shrine used in their ritual
The player destroys the Shrine. More Hive appear.
Defeat the Hive
Take down Hive congregants
Another Hierach appears during the fight
Defeat the Hierarch
Eliminate the Ritual Hierarch

Ghost: Hey team! We've torn down the altars.

Holliday: Then we got a problem. Those must have been transmitters, not the source. Ritual's still going on. We're jittering up, down and sideways over here.

Sloane: I feel... sick.

Holliday: Keep it together, girl.

Find the source
Search for the primary source of the waves
The player continues through the passage, which is now open since the Shrine's destruction. They enter into a large room, with a gigantic Hive Crystal in the center of it, screaming rhythmically, as per the Hive norm. The Hive are bowed down in worship to the Crystal and the soul of the Ascendant Hive therein, becoming combative upon detecting the player's entry into the room.
The player kills the Hive and approaches the Crystal.

Ghost: Sloane, there's a giant crystal in here... it's SINGING.

Sloane: Neutralise it!

Stay alive
Survive the onslaught of Hive
Hive reinforcements arrive, commencing battle with the player in an effort to protect the crystal.
The player kills the Hive, drawing out their leader, Nalcthor, the Crystaline, who enters the field surrounded by Cursed Thralls just waiting to be exploded.

Ghost: That Knight, he's singing like the crystal. Are they... drawing power from each other?

Defeat the Knight
Destroy the singing Knight
The player defeats Nalcthor.

Sloane: We're stable again! Whatever you did, it worked. My... stomach thanks you.

Holliday: Got a wild idea. How 'bout you send me that rock for analysis? Whaddaya say?

Ghost: One big glowy rock, coming right up

Transmat the crystal
Plant a transmat beacon and send the crystal to Amanda
Plant Transmat Beacon
The crystal disappears.

Holliday: You're a beaut, aren't ya? Ohh, the tests I'm going to run on you. I wonder how many pistons you can power. Sparrow thrusters, obviously, but what about warp drives, or...?

Sloane: I'm sure I'm going to hear all about what Amanda will use that for. What were the Hive doing with it?

{Gameplay End}

{End Mission}

Trivia[edit]

  • This adventure chronologically precedes Savathûn's Song and follows on from the first mission on Titan in which the Hive Prince Ubara is slain by the Guardian, with all three events likely being interrelated.
    • There are few named princes among the Hive, and consequently each Prince is of high rank, with other examples being Crota, the son of Oryx; Alak-Hul, the adoptive son of Oryx and Malok, Pride of Oryx, a son of Savathun, both of whom tried but failed to become a prince after Oryx's death; as well as the Swarm Princes and their lord and master Sardon, Fist of Crota. Given the significance of his rank, if Ubara survived his death by having an Ascendant Realm, then it would have been possible to summon him back in exactly the same manner as Crota was to be returned to life during the Wakening in Destiny 1.
    • If this were the case it would explain the elaborated string of summoning rituals defeated during Siren Song as the crystal at the end of the adventure may be alike to the crystal which contained Crota's soul and was being used to return him to life, and have been prepared in order to resurrect Prince Ubara, though this is prevented by the player's actions to interrupt the rituals, destroy the shrines, and the steal the crystal. With the crystral stolen, if Ubara is in the Ascendant Realm and that was indeed his soul crystal, then he may be trapped there indefinitely.
    • If Prince Ubara was a son of Savathun then her reaction, both emotional and pragmatic due to the Ubara's death and the severance of her son's tithe, would be similar to Oryx's upon the death of Crota, and she would be forced to respond, even personally. This may be the motive for Savathun's attempted summoning in Savathûn's Song.
  • As a reward for completing the adventure, the player receives Songbreaker Grips, Gauntlet's or Gloves depending on their class, identifying what happened to the crystal after Holliday got a hold of it:
"They're powered by that Hive rock you got me! Sloane gave me permission once I explained the voltmeter readings." —Amanda Holliday
  • The Hive Crystal is situated underneath a structure identical to the one that housed the CPU taken by the player earlier during the mission Utopia. Whether this is a significant detail regarding the summoning ritual is unknown, and it more likely is simply an indicator of the room's former purpose.
