The Infinite Simulacrum was a device built by Brother Vance using Simulation Seeds and Vex architecture under the guidance of lore written by Osiris. He used the Infinite Simulacrum to create a small pocket version of the Infinite Forest to assist in his studies of the mysterious tones emitted by The Lighthouses of Mercury in response to the deaths of a Guardian. Unfortunately, the device also connected Vance closer to the Darkness and affected his sanity.[1] Vance later used the device to open the sealed gateway to the Infinite Forest after refusing to evacuate Mercury following the arrival of the Black Fleet.[2]
