Banes are a new combatant modifier that grants a special power of random choice to any non-champion or Boss combatant in PvE, these Banes are found exclusively in higher difficulty activities like Legend Nightfalls.
Examples of Banes
- Added in Episode: Revenant
- Meteors - No longer limited to Ignovun, Chosen of Caiatl, combatants with the Meteor bane will send out tracking meteors. Destroy or dodge them quickly.[1]
- Meteor Combatants send out 3 Solar Projectiles every so often. Projectiles have a long tracking range and deal moderate Solar daamge upon contact. These projectiles cannot target Invisible players, and can be destroyed. Suppression does not stop the spawning of these projectiles in anyway.

- Shock - Combatants with the Shock bane build up a charge over time, dealing massive Arc damage to a single Guardian on the field. [2]
- Guardians at a moderate range or out of line of sight will break the deployed arc tether, obviously killing the Bane will remove the tether. This Bane cannot target invisible players and Suppression temporarily disables accumulation of Arc Charge.
- Mines - Combatants with the Mines bane drop several exploding mines upon being defeated. Tread carefully and watch your step. [3]
- Land Mines can be manually destoryed by any source of damage. If Suppression is used on the Mines Bane, they will not spawn mines on death so long as they die while supressed.
- Drain - Combatants with the Drain bane will sap health from Guardians in their line of sight. Move between cover and dispatch them quickly.[4]
- Guardians at a long range or out of line of sight will remove the Umbral Drain Debuff, obviously killing the Bane will remove the Debuff. This Bane cannot target invisible players and Suppression temporarily removes the Debuff.
