- "Just before a Nova Bomb hits, there is a rush of air and warmth—the destruction of Light and life in its path."
- — Ikora Rey
Nova Bomb is a Guardian Super available to members of the Warlock class that use the Voidwalker subclass.[1]
Description[edit]
- "Channel some of the Traveler's most mysterious forces and unleash them in an explosive, large area-of-effect attack."
- — Ability description [2]
In Destiny, the caster hurls a concentrated sphere of Void energy that, upon impact with a target, unleashes a devastating explosion. The Nova Bomb is capable of completely vaporizing weaker enemies and staggering larger, more powerful foes.[3] It can be upgraded to leave behind a damaging vortex on impact, split into three separate projectiles upon being thrown, or travel farther and faster.
In Destiny 2, Nova Bomb damage has been increased and there are two types of Nova Bomb, Cataclysm and Vortex. Nova Bomb Cataclysm, previously connected with the Attunement of Chaos subclass tree, travels slowly and seeks enemies, shattering into smaller seeker projectiles. Shooting the bomb while in the air causes it to split earlier.[4] Nova Bomb Vortex, previously connected with the Attunement of Hunger subclass tree, fires a singularity that falls to the ground in an arc and continually damages enemies trapped inside.[4] Savathûn and her Projections are also capable of using Nova Bomb Vortex, in a longer lasting but lower damage version, and can fire it under themselves as part of a Nova Warp.[5]
