The Iron Battle Axe is a powerful weapon, signature of the Iron Lords that changed the Dark Age. When Solar Light is channeled within the weapon, the axe amplifies it and enhances it, turning into an instrument of destruction.

Saladin Forge would keep one as his signature weapon, surviving into the modern age, and others were recovered by Guardians that explored the Plaguelands during the SIVA Crisis.
Lord Saladin would continue to bear his Battle Axe after his return to the city during the Clash of the Chosen, and brought it with himself when he joined the Imperial Cabal.[2] In this occasion, he also left another Iron Battle Axe to The Crow. The Hunter would in time learn to use it, even bringing it with himself into The Pale Heart to use against The Witness.
