Among the most legendary of Titans |
- "Guardian, Ouros is a legend. If even half the stories are true, she's one of the most powerful Titans alive today!"
- — Ghost[1]
Ouros was a Titan who served as the Third (and final) Empyreal Magistrate of the Sunbreakers. She presumably perished when the Red Legion assaulted the Sunbreakers Forge on Mercury and wiped out the order.
Biography[edit]
The Great Ahamkara Hunt[edit]
During the Great Ahamkara Hunt, Ouros and Liu Feng were faced by two Ahamkara, each of which took on the appearance of one of the Guardian pair. They found themselves in a standoff in which Ouros held a gun to the head of the Ahamkara impersonating Liu Feng, without knowing that it was not the "true" Liu Feng, while the Ahamkara likewise held a gun to Ouros' head. Meanwhile, the real Liu Feng and the false Ouros did the same. The true Ouros fired her weapon, killing the Ahamkara; Liu Feng did the same. Afterwards, Ouros claimed to have "felt the heat of the Forge" on her skin, which allowed her to tell that the Ahamkara she killed had not been Liu Feng[2].
Reforging ties with the City[edit]
- "We do not know of you, Guardian. But if you found us you are worthy of our time. I am Ouros, Third Empyreal Magistrate of the Sunbreakers. You come to test your Light in the forge."
- — Ouros
By the time of the Taken War, Ouros had become the Third Empyreal Magistrate of the Sunbreakers. She led a legion of Sunbreakers to the Ishtar Collective on Venus for a task that was connected to Osiris, but they faced stiff resistance from the Vex, causing Ouros to order a retreat through a Vex gate that led to their Forge at The Burning Shrine on Mercury. Although several Sunbreakers fell, Ouros and the others managed to open the gate and escape to Mercury. Their activity drew the attention of Commander Zavala, who wished to mend relations between the Vanguard and the Sunbreakers, and he dispatched The Guardian to find the Sunbreakers.[3]
When the Guardian arrived, Ouros contacted them and introduced herself, noting that by finding them they proved worthy of being tested. She instructed them to light the Forge and begin their test. Upon activating the Forge Ouros instructed them on how to use it, granting them the power of Solar Light and the ability to utilize the Hammer of Sol. She watched as the Guardian used their newfound power to cleanse the Burning Shrine of Vex. Impressed, Ouros told them that a Sunbreaker answers only to the will of the Light and welcomed them among their ranks.[1]
The Red War[edit]
- "And now we stand at the end. May history remember the Forge. Remember the Hammer. Remember the Sunbreakers."
- — Ouros[4]
When Ghaul invaded the Last City and stripped the Guardians of their Light by caging the Traveler, Ouros and her fellow Sunbreakers were left vulnerable. The Red Legion located their headquarters and attacked, wiping out the Titan order. Ouros was able to send out a message, stating that the Sunbreakers had chosen their path because there was no other for them, and that she hoped that history would remember the order and their fight against the Darkness.[4]
Quotes[edit]
- "Some doctrines argue that the role of a Titan is to stand in defense of the Last City. The Strikers see a crackling offense as the best defense."[5]
- "An unjust commander is not worthy of loyalty."[6]
- "You who seek the Forge: your journey will be long, but your destination is closer than you think."[4]
