A Ghost is a piece of equipment issued to each Guardian.[1] Appearing as a small, floating drone, Ghosts can support the player by performing certain actions such as illuminating darkened areas, repairing technology from the Golden Age, informing the player of incoming hostile threats, and serving as a marker beacon/respawn point when a player's character dies during cooperative play. They seem to possess some degree of artificial intelligence, being able to converse with their masters in a very human manner.[2]
Trivia
- The Ghost from the E3 2013 Destiny Gameplay Demo was voiced by Peter Dinklage. [3]
- In the E3 2013 Destiny Gameplay Demo, the Hunter's Ghost can be seen emitting a soft golden light and marking the position where she died, until the character was revived by the Warlock's player. It is not currently known whether the player's Ghost played any role in reviving the character, other than marking the spot on which they were defeated.[2]
- Ghosts bear resemblance to the Monitors from Bungie's Halo series.
