The '''Echo of Conquests''' is an artifact that was released from within the Traveler following the destruction of the [[The Witness|Witness]]. Like the other [[Forum:Fanfic Echoes|Echoes]], it is believed to be a memory or psychic imprint of a species that was conquered and destroyed by the Witness and its [[Black Fleet]], preserved in the [[Darkness]] and made manifest through the [[Light]]. In the case of the Echo of Conquests, it was created from the memories of the [[Forum:Nadheal|Nadheal]] species. It was originally discovered by [[Forum:Tazcrakhan, Reverent of the Witness|Tazcrakhan]] and later used by [[Forum:Shin'ra, the Sorrow-Maker|Shin'ra]] during the [[Forum:War of the Weavers|War of the Weavers]]. It was eventually destroyed by the efforts of the [[Guardian]]s but fragments of it would be sought after by the forces of the [[Forum:Golden Legion|Golden Legion]] and remnants of Shin'ra's followers.  

The Echo appears to be a triangular crystal that is illuminated by silica colors, which its shape resembling the portal of the [[The Pale Heart|Pale Heart]]. It was initially held in a studded amulet embedded within Shin'ra's palm. When he transformed into his [[Worm|Worm God]] form, the Echo's size would increase and replace his central eye. Shin'ra would use the Echo to create the [[Forum:The Forged Pyramid|Forged Pyramid]] along with new forces of the [[Forum:Fanfic Dread|Dread]], and would later use the Echo to convert himself into a Worm God and to open a massive rift from his throne world above [[Earth]].

 

The Echo of Conquests has an overbearing will due to the many Nadheal that fell to the wrath of Shin'ra, leaving only their pain and hatred behind in their memories. While he intended on using it to locate the lost [[Forum:Hadium Forge|Hadium Forge]], the hatred of the Nadheal would corrupt Shin'ra, turning him insane due to his isolation as the last true member of the [[Osmium Court]] and failure to protect the [[Osmium King|King]]'s [[Oryx, the Taken King|pr]][[Savathûn, the Witch Queen|oge]][[Xivu Arath, God of War|ny]]. This corruption would lead him towards his transformation into a Worm God.
