Keit'ehr was originally the first attempt by the [[The Witness| Witness]] to use the [[Light]] within the [[The Traveler|Traveler]]'s [[The Pale Heart|Pale Heart]] and [[Darkness]] to create Dread. However, they were left in a catatonic state. The Witness would leave them in a grave, telling them to prove their existence by escaping their "death" and that their strength would be known should they rise and find the Witness. From their grave, Keit'ehr could see the creation of the Dread and the [[Excision|death]] of the Witness.
