Deimos is the smaller of the two natural satellites of Mars. It can be seen in the sky above Meridian Bay opposite Phobos.

Deimos had been under the control of the many enemies of humanity. While the Vanguard believed that the Cabal Star Blazers were the first to be discovered, it was originally under the control of the Cult of Anziluu many centuries ago either during the Collapse or Dark Age. Their forces would come into contact with an unknown Cabal legion, which invaded Deimos and constructed a Firebase on its surface. After years of struggle, the Cabal legion would abandon Deimos with their existence being stripped from existence by Anziluu through the use of the Weave of Fate.
Prior to the Taken War, the Cabal's Star Blazers would eventually make their claim of Deimos, building a Fleetbase as a strategic base of operations. However, the base would be abandoned following the Siege on Mars and was entrenched by the Fallen House of Storm during their arrival and was an important part of Tikmiks' Revolt as it served the final stand of the Storms as the Lions captured Tikmiks, Archon Priest, leaving the base abandoned once again. Traditionalists of the House of Storms under the command of Zavriks, Storm's Rebellion, would lay siege to the moon once more years later to claim it as Storm territory. After the events of Zavriks' Rebellion, the Storms would again abandon Deimos and their claim for it.
