Azirim was an Ahamkara who interacted with the Awoken of the Reef.
Biography[edit]
Azirim was a cruel, psychotic sadist who took pleasure in killing and was therefore barred from the Dreaming City; however, he showed up regardless during a celebration, claiming to the historian Esila that he had mended his ways. He made a show of his supposed contrition which enraptured dozens of the Awoken, including Esila, and then beguiled them into leaping off the cliffs of the Gardens of Esila. Azirim fed on their deaths and fled the city laughing in sadistic glee, both at the deaths of the Awoken he had tricked and at the Dreaming City's helplessness to stop him. The other Awoken, either too far away to see what was happening or misled by an illusion, did not realize Azirim's crime until later.[1]
He was encountered during the Great Ahamkara Hunt by Ikora Rey and Wei Ning. Azirim mesmerized Ikora into making a wish, but Wei Ning gave Ikora a concussion, breaking her trance before she could complete it.[2]
