The Dakaua were an intelligent, spacefaring species whom the Hive destroyed.[1] Their civilization, known as the Dakaua Nest, was a client of the Ecumene.
Overview[edit]
The Dakaua were among the first Ecumene members to encounter the belligerent Hive. After a century of war, the Dakaua discovered a twenty-four-thousand-year-old ship that contained the Krill Taox in cryo-stasis. Taox provided the Dakaua Ministry of War with vital intelligence concerning the Hive's motivations and the identities of its leaders, which the Ministry passed on to the Ecumene Crisis Council along with a recommendation to eliminate the Hive via genocide.[2]
Sometime later, after the Ecumene Council had been killed by Oryx, the Taken King at a place called the Fractal Wreath, Oryx himself asked the Dakaua to aid him in killing his sister, Xivu Arath, because he was jealous of her power. The desperate Dakaua agreed, but this proved to be a trap that led to the Dakaua being wiped out completely. Oryx's act of treachery restored his other sister, Savathûn, to life.[1]
