Blighted Subroutines are Taken Vex units that support Pathetos, the Witnessed Mind in the Taken variation of the reprised The Nexus Strike. These enhanced Taken Minotaur units are required to be eliminated in order to acquire their Taken Essence so that the Guardian Fireteam can destroy the Taken Hydra's immune shield. On higher difficulty Nightfalls or Grandmaster, the Taken Minotaurs are replaced by Overload Taken Hobgoblins.
