It was the world's first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles, and now is one of the largest third-party video game publishers in the world. It was also the top publisher for 2007 in the United States.
Activision’s last CEO was Bobby Kotick, who left the company on December 29th, 2023. So far he has not been replaced.

Activision was the publisher for Destiny and Destiny 2, developed by Bungie. Bungie cut ties with Activision with the release of Shadowkeep.
