Word of Crota is a Level 20 Legendary Hand Cannon acquired as a random drop from defeating Crota, Son of Oryx on Heroic difficulty. It has since been reissued in Destiny 2 as a reward, once again, from the Crota's End raid.

Gameplay[edit]

This weapon is part of the high rate-of-fire and low-impact Hand Cannon archetype. Since the weapon is only available as a Year 1 drop, it is mostly only used in the Crucible due to the fact that most modes don't enable Light level advantages.

Perks[edit]

  • Selectable Perk 1
    • SteadyHand IS: Stable sight. Optimized for excellent recoil control.
    • SureShot IS: Snapshot sight. Excellent handling. Superb target acquisition.
    • QuickDraw IS: Agile sight. Lightning-fast handling.
  • Intrinsic Perk 1:
    • Zen Moment: Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.
  • Selectable Perk 2:
    • Speed Reload: Reload this weapon quickly.
    • Hammer Forged: Improved range and accuracy.
    • Explosive Rounds: Volatile payload explodes on impact, dealing a portion of the weapon's damage in an area.
  • Intrinsic Perk 2:
    • Phantom Gift: This weapon deals moderate bonus damage to Fallen Vandals.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the first Hand Cannon that is capable of dealing Void damage.
  • Word of Crota was designed to look like a weapon forged by the Hive, despite not being considered a Weapon of Sorrow.
