Zeerik, Lightflayer is a powerful Scorn Raider and one of the four daily-rotating bosses of the Wellspring activity. He, along with his Scorn followers, launch an assault on the Wellspring in attempt to destroy it and the Guardians sent to repel the attack.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

Zeerik is one of the two rotating bosses of The Wellspring: Defend. He is encountered where the Resonant Splinter is first located in the Attack version of the activity. After you have finished all of the other objectives, interacting with the Darkness artifact will begin the boss fight, and the Raider will spawn alongside multiple Scorn enemies to provide support for him. Zeerik is extremely agile and arms himself with a Scorn Crossbow, which can deal incredible damage if hit by all three bolts at once. He also can slam the ground with his fist, creating a large shock wave and sending players flying backwards. Like other Raiders, he is capable of entering a smoke dash, nullifying any incoming attacks and making him even faster than he already is. After retreating from the fight's first phase, Zeerik will utilize Bind Ether Totems to restrain his enemies temporarily. Small groups of weaker Scorn enemies will frequently come to aid him, and much larger hordes of combatants when he loses significant amounts of health.

Upon sustaining enough damage, the Raider will gain an immunity shield and teleport down to the bridge of the Court of Thorns. After you have followed him down there, more Scorn reinforcements will arrive in large numbers to back him up. Players will have to neutralize the Crux of Darkness in the area by destroying the two Pyramid Spikes located alongside it to bring down the boss's defenses. Once this is done, Zeerik's immunity shield will deactivate and you may continue damaging him. Players will have to repeat this process twice after this when the Raider summons another shield and teleports further away. The amount of Pyramid Spikes that must be destroyed will increase by two with each Crux. Once all three Cruxes are neutralized, Zeerik will no longer be able to become resistant to damage, and you will be able to finish the fight and kill him.
