Necromantic Gaze |
- "You are a Wizard. Master of forbidden secrets. Butcher of physics. [...] Behind all your furious power, behind your shields and your legions of attendants, you know you might yet be stripped of your defenses and pinned to ruin. You need to never be alone. There is a knife for you. It is shaped like [call forth the numberless]. Take up the knife. Issue forth a horde. Take your new shape."
- — Grimoire description
Taken Wizard is a type of Taken Hive.
Gameplay
The Wizard's abilities change considerably once Taken. Their quick traveling Arc Darkness Blast is replaced by the Solar Necromantic Gaze, which fires a delayed barrage of shots after a few moments of casting time. They have lost their Poison Cloud, and replaced it with the ability to summon Shadow Thralls. Taken Wizards should never be allowed to retreat, or they will begin creating large hordes of Shadow Thralls that can quickly overwhelm players. Defense wise, their shields have changed to Void, but they aren't any tougher than their Hive counterpart.
