Transcript[edit]

(Start Adventure)

Queen Mara Sov: It was only a matter of time before Savathûn showed herself.

Queen Mara Sov: She is not capable of letting this moment past without placing a claw on the scales.

Queen Mara Sov: For now she has exactly what she wants: uncertainty. We will take that from her. Track down her brood and pull down the veil from her plans.

The Guardian enters into a cave infested by Lucent Hive with the hope of uncovering the Witch Queen's plan.

Savathûn: Mara Sov, so eager to spar with gods at the drop of a hat. Aren't you tired of losing to me?

Queen Mara Sov: I seem to recall your logic rebuked, your Ghost imprisoned by the Vanguard. That tastes of anything but loss.

Savathûn: The sword logic was always tarnished, but your "bomb logic" also went down in flames. Quite spectacularly, if I do say so myself.

Savathûn: Two queens, failed by ideology. We adapt or die, and it's a new age. Isn't that right, Your Majesty?

Upon entering into the Refraction, the Guardian defeats swarms of a Lucent Hive to lower the barrier, allowing them to navigate further into the cave.

Savathûn: Do you see it yet? The end of our little game, buried between memory and material.

Queen Mara Sov: Between Light and Dark… What trinket from the past holds your attention so?

Savathûn: Not a trinket. A perspective. The knowledge of angles, of edges, and the points at which they end.

Savathûn: A… convincing argument from sister superior, you could say.

Eventually the Guardian exists out of the cave and traverses toward a cavern blocked by a Taken barrier while encountering the Lucent Brood engaging with the Taken and Dread.

Queen Mara Sov: No. She couldn't have meant…

Queen Mara Sov: Guardian. Those Taken-I need you to focus your efforts on destroying them and releasing their energy.

Queen Mara Sov: As much of it as you can.

After the Guardian slays hordes of Taken, Mara uses the released Taken energy to empower them, thus allowing them to traverse across previously unseen platforms and perceive how the Taken see.

Ghost: Woah! Mara, what did you do?

Queen Mara Sov: Placed a finger on the scales.

Queen Mara Sov: The Darkness inside of you is surging, like standing on the threshold of being Taken. You see how they see.

Queen Mara Sov: Savathûn's plan was never about hiding anything… but revelation. Look for what is out of place, and bend it back.

Shortly after the Guardian arrives and enters into another cave, Mara relinquishes the Taken energy from their body.

Queen Mara Sov: [gasps] I cannot hold it any longer.

Savathûn: I feel the Traveler's pain too, you know. Without me, the Witness would have swept Sol away a long time ago.

Queen Mara Sov: How noble of you. I am sure your intentions were pure, with no ulterior motive.

Savathûn: We play an unwinnable game, meant to extend on forever. And I've shown you how to change the rules time and time again, without even a 'thank you'!

Queen Mara Sov: There will be a day when you've run out your usefulness, Witch. When you will have no greater scheme to protect you from our wrath.

Darkness Zone. Respawning Restricted.
The Guardian arrives within a shrine where they are ambushed by Taken and Dread forces led by an Omen.

Queen Mara Sov: We must know what is happening here. Guardian, destroy the Taken, I require their power.

Upon slaying enough Taken, the Guardian is empowered by their energy by Mara Sov, causing the enemy forces to teleport away.

Queen Mara Sov: Move, Guardian! Reveal what lies here. I will hold as long as I am able.

Ghost: Wait! I-I feel Light. But it's… out of phase?

Ghost: A Light fissure! But it exists in an entirely different state of matter than we can normally perceive.

Queen Mara Sov: But the Taken can.

Savathûn: Ah, you figured it out-just in time. Here they come now.

The Guardian liberates the three fissures of Light before they lose their Taken empowerment. They are then ambushed by Taken and Dread forces, however Luzaku appears and comes to their aid.

Luzaku: This one comes to your aid, Guardian!

Luzaku: You need not fight alone!

Receiving enough Taken energy to become empowered once again, the Guardian liberates the other fissures of Light before Mara relinquishes the energy. With the energy relinquished, the Guardian is then confronted by two Tormentors. Despite the overwhelming enemy numbers, the Guardian defeats the Tormentors and other forces of the Witness, successfully defending the fissures of Light.

Queen Mara Sov: There are fissures of Light all across the Pale Heart that exist out of phase with the material world. One’s brimming with potential.

Queen Mara Sov: Now that I know how to help them, I should be able to help the Traveler.

Savathûn: Then we're both getting what we want. How nice when Lightbearers find mutually beneficial outcomes.

Savathûn: You're welcome, and thank you for not interfering as much as you could have… [laughs evilly]

Queen Mara Sov: Words spoken on borrowed time. You only live because a threat more pressing overshadows you.

Savathûn: Oh, there's no need to flatter me. You can save your love for later when all of this comes back around.

Ghost: If your so interested in helping, call off the Lucent Brood. Help us fight the Traveler's enemies.

Savathûn: Guardians-always wanting more. [chuckles] Don't look a tithing Thrall in the maw, little Ghost.
