"Follow the blue flowers to the City. And know that even if the planter is dead, they still watch over you"
Ayane Takanome[1]

Takanome's Rangers were a group of fighters that existed during the Dark Age, before the advent of the Guardians and the founding of the Last City.

Led by the legendary Ayane Takanome and armed with sniper rifles, the Rangers patrolled the ruins of Earth and protected countless refugees making their way to the Traveler from their perches high in the mountains, killing Fallen and human bandits alike. As they were not Guardians, they planted blue flowers along the refugee roads to preserve their memory. Eventually, the Guardians took over the Rangers' duties, and the Rangers' leader faded into myth.[2][3][4][5]

Their story is told by Chiyoko Mey,[2] President of Daito.[1]
