Light-Eater Ogres spawn soon after Oryx, the Taken King slams a plate with his fist and spawning a brand, each emerging from pools by the plates immediately after the respective plate is activated by a Guardian standing on it. When killed, they leave behind a blight that must be detonated after Oryx is staggered to prevent him from regaining health. If Light-Eater Ogres are left alive for long enough, they activate rage and begin to chase down the closest Guardian to them that they can reach. Using Cenotaph Mask to mark Light-Eaters with Trace Rifles before they are killed is an easy-to-use strategy if your team is struggling with ammo.
